Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, one of the leading life insurance companies in Ghana, today officially launched the second edition of the annual urban cycling event called PruRide 2021 at the headquarters of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana.

The aim of the cycling event is to promote a healthy lifestyle, highlight cycling as a sport, promote an active, healthy lifestyle and collect donations for charity.

Cycling is undoubtedly a proven way to lead a fit and active life. “

Mr. Mokobi also added that the event was inspired by Prudential Ride London, the world’s largest annual cycling festival sponsored by Prudential Plc.

This year’s edition will be celebrated on Sunday 5th December 2021 on the Ablekuma-Anyaa route. The 99.7 km long route is to be used for the All African Games 2023 and was selected in consultation with the Ghana Cycling Federation. Interested cyclists, sports enthusiasts and the general public are invited to register using a GHS 50 token via the Prudential Ghana website.

The proceeds from ticket sales, donations and sponsorship contributions go to the National Cardiothoracic Center in the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. The goal is to perform corrective open heart surgeries for children with congenital heart defects whose families cannot afford the life-saving surgery.

Tetteh Ayitevie, Chief Strategy Officer, Prudential Life Insurance Ghana said, “Prudential has a long history of supporting cycling events around the world. We are pleased to have worked with all of our partners to increase participation in cycling in Accra. The event is also supported by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Ghana Police Service, Special Ice Mineral Water, Lou Moon Lodge and Fitrip Gym.
